Description
Suffolk Sunrise and Long Exposure Challenge Workshop.
Friday 21st February 6.15am -8.30am plus an addition session over Zoom to discuss our results. This session will take place on Thursday 27th February at 7pm and is entirely optional but participants usually find these sessions really useful.
Join me for a morning sunrise and long exposure photography workshop in Southwold.
This workshop begins at Southwold Pier for sunrise where we will focus on long exposures and getting the best from the early morning light. For long exposure photography a range of Lee filters are available to borrow along with filter holders and adaptor rings. Please ask when booking.
After the pier we will also have time to explore some compositions of the beach huts.
The aim of the workshop is to learn how to:
Take a correctly exposed sunrise image
Use long exposures creatively to give various effects from streaky water to milky seas using different shutter speeds to give us different effects.
The challenge
During the workshop I will challenge you to make 3 images which we will discuss on the zoom session on Thursday 27th February. The three images will be:
A landscape shot which can either be a sunrise image or an image taken of the beach huts after sunrise.
A long exposure image with a shutter speed greater than 20 seconds
An exposure of 1/4 – 1 second which shows the motion in water.
What is included:
2 hours of tuition in the field plus 1.5 hours on zoom afterwards to discuss your results.
the use of ND filters for long exposure techniques (if required)
