November Masterclass

£110.00

Sunrise Photography Project masterclass – Saturday 16th November 6.30am – 3pm

*2 places only* This is a special workshop designed for 2 people only. This restriction is due to computer availability as I am limited to 2 machines. This will give you the maximum time in front of the computer to develop your project ideas.

Photography projects are a great way to take your image making to the next level. On this workshop we will look at what is involved in tackling a photography project from single day projects to longer term collections which could be used for a book or an exhibition.

The day will be split in two halves. The first 3 hours will take place on the beach at Sizewell where you will be challenged to come up with an idea for a short project which will involve about 6 – 12 images which you will shoot during the morning. The session is timed to coincide with sunrise and the early morning light. There are numerous options for photography and your project can include any of the following:

seascapes, long exposures, intimate landscapes, macro shots

The second half of the session will take place in my studio at Hollesley where we will look at choosing and sequencing images for a panel. We will look at the considerations for making a panel or small zine and will discuss how to process and select our images so that they form a cohesive body of work. I am an avid collector of photo books so there will be a good selection of other photographers work to study for inspiration along with examples of my own published work.

The procedures we cover in the studio session can be applied to producing a small panel or triptych as well as bigger projects such as books or an exhibition.

The workshop is designed for 2 people with 2 Mac’s available for your use in the studio.

This is a creative workshop and is suitable for all levels but some experience of Lightroom and Photoshop would be useful.

Session Aims:

To learn how to approach making a small body of work.

To think creatively in sets and with a theme or story in mind.

To select, process and sequence your images.

At the end of the session we will print a contact print of your sequenced work on fine art paper to give you an idea of what can be achieved.
