Description
Orford Group Workshop
Join me for a half day group workshop in Orford exploring the art of composition and ‘seeing’ an image.
Orford lies on the River Ore and is well known for its castle and National Trust site at Orfordness, but it also has an attractive quay and river frontage, an impressive church and beautiful high street.
During the workshop we will focus on the quay, river front with its derelict boats, the castle and the churchyard and high street. We will explore various aspects of composition including identifying a subject, finding a viewpoint, working with supporting elements and using lines, shapes, patterns and textures to create depth and interest in a composition.
We will look at composition in the wider landscape and also in more detailed scenes.
The workshop will include a series of exercises to help master the different aspects of composition.
Participants are invited to submit their images for comments and feedback after the workshop.
This workshop is suitable for all levels and abilities and all camera types.
This workshop is being run in conjunction with my new book “Photographing the Suffolk Coast” which can be purchased here >
This project has been supported by the Amenity and Accessibility Fund administered by the Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB
