Description
Capture and Create Workshop – Pin Mill
Sunday 13th August 7am – 10am
Join me on the second of 3 new workshops designed to tell a visual story about the River Orwell. These workshops will form part of a new series of Capture and Create workshops where the end product will be a published zine featuring your work from the 3 workshops.
All workshop participants who contribute to the zine will receive a free printed copy showcasing their work.
During this Capture and Create workshop we will be looking to produce a series of images which tell the story of Pin Mill through your eyes. We will be looking to convey a sense of place by focusing on the following:
Icons – well know and familiar landmarks eg the boat graveyard
Elements – things that are commonly associated with Pin Mill – barges, pub, boats, boatbuilding
Details – things that complete the picture, macro and close up shots, texture and detail, anchors and chains, signs
To produce these images we will be looking at depth of field, composition, finding images and combining them by looking for similar colours and tones.
At the end of the workshop participants will be encourage to send in a series of 6 images which will then be put together to make up a photographic zine about the River Orwell.
You do not need to partake in all 3 workshops, you can do one or more than one if you wish. The aim of the project is to produce a body of work seen through the eyes of multiple photographers.
