Description
River Orwell Sunrise Workshop
Sunrise and morning workshop Thursday 22nd September 6am – 12.midday
Join me for a 6 hour photography workshop exploring the different landscapes which surround the River Orwell. The workshop begins at dawn on Shotley Point where hopefully we will be able to catch a sunrise over the River Orwell and Felixstowe Docks. The beach and salt marsh provide good foreground with lovely views over the river. In the opposite direction Shotley Marina provides alternative compositions.
From Shotley we will move to Pin Mill for high tide where we will visit the old boat wrecks and have the opportunity for some long exposure photography. Filters are available to borrow should you need them.
The workshop will finish at Landguard Point for some photography around the docks and the nature reserve. During the workshop we will also explore the art of composition and “seeing and image”.
What you need
This workshops assumes some basic knowledge of your camera controls. You will need to bring your camera and a lens suitable for wider landscapes, a tripod and a cable release. If you have graduated filters and ND filters these will be useful for sunrise work and long exposures but if not I have filters sets which can be borrowed for the duration of the workshop. If you have any questions about kit prior to booking please don’t hesitate to contact me
My River Orwell Sunrise Workshop is a small group workshop run with a maximum of 5 participants so ensuring plenty of individual tuition. I also provide a set of digital notes to accompany the workshop which I send out before the day.
Participants are invited to submit their favourite images for comments and feedback after the workshop.
