Felixstowe Sunrise and Long Exposure Workshop

Sunrise and morning workshop 7.00am – 1.15pm Thursday 25th January. Plus a 1 hour zoom session on Thursday 1st February to discuss images and post processing.

Join me for a 6 hour photography workshop exploring the different landscapes of this seaside town.

The workshop begins at dawn on Landguard Point where hopefully we will be able to catch a sunrise over the old pier. There will be opportunities to experiment with long exposure and filters are available to borrow if required.

From Landguard Point we will move to Felixstowe seafront where you will have the opportunity to experiment with long exposure photography at Cobbold Point and Felixstowe Pier.

The workshop is timed to capture sunrise at Landguard Point and we will be able to work with the early morning light which I often find is the best of the day. I will give advice on filters and capturing the early morning colour as well as working with some long exposure photography. I have a selection of Lee Filters which are available to borrow for the duration of the workshop so please request this option when booking.

The three locations visited in this workshop are all about 10 mins apart by car and offer a good range of subjects for long exposure photography.

What you need

This workshops assumes some basic knowledge of your camera controls. You will need to bring your camera and a lens suitable for wider landscapes, a tripod and a cable release.  If you have graduated filters and ND filters these will be useful for sunrise work and long exposures but if not I have filters sets which can be borrowed for the duration of the workshop. My Felixstowe Sunrise Workshop is a small group workshop run with a maximum of 4 participants so ensuring plenty of individual tuition. I also provide a set of digital notes to accompany the workshop which I send out before the day.
