Description
Ramsholt – Sunday 5th June 8am – 11am
Join me a a half day workshop exploring the beautiful riverside hamlet of Ramsholt.
We will be focusing on composition and seeing an images and will be working around the quay, along the river and in the churchyard which should be full of flowers at this time of the year.
Learn how to take well composed beautiful images. For me photography is not all about the latest gear, it is much more about connecting with the landscape and ‘seeing’ what is around you. All my workshops are tailored to your specific requirements and we will discuss these beforehand, but typically a session will include some or all of the following:
The technical side of making a photograph. This will include camera settings, ISO, aperture and depth of field, the relationship between ISO, aperture and shutter speed, white balance and the use of filters and techniques like long exposure and how to get the best from sunrises and sunsets..
‘Seeing the landscape’. This is one of the most critical elements of photography. You can be technically brilliant with the camera but if you cannot see an image or put together a successful composition you will never reach your full potential as a photographer. In this section we will practice observation and composition and work with some of the rules for composition but we will also be aware that rules are guidelines only and should never be followed to the point where they stifle your creativity.
Part of the Landscape Workbook. This year all participants on my half day workshops will receive a copy of my Part of the Landscape Workbook which can be used afterwards to continue exploring the Suffolk landscape. The workbook features a series of exercises designed to promote a more thoughtful approach to landscape photography and looks at how we can use this to engage more fully with the natural world.
What is included:
3 hours of tuition at Ramsholt
A copy of the Part of the Landscape Workbook
Digital course notes which will be emailed before the session.
